From January 27-29 the Buckeyes welcomed ASIMO to The Ohio State University. The event was sponsored by the Honda Partnership Program and Ohio State University’s College of Engineering - ranked by U.S. News and World Report as one of the top engineering schools in the nation. During ASIMO’s visit to campus local middle and high school students, OSU students and faculty, and many Ohio residents went NUTS when ASIMO took the stage and showed off its human-like capabilities.
On Thursday and Friday more than 2,200 middle school and high school students traveled to the OSU campus to see ASIMO perform live. And on Saturday, ASIMO was exceptionally popular, with more than 1,200 people showing up to catch ASIMO’s last demonstration in Ohio. But there was no need to worry; everyone who waited in line got a chance to see ASIMO.
Over the course of the event ASIMO captivatingly danced, climbed stairs and balanced on one foot for more than 4,000 people. When it was time for ASIMO to say goodbye, the Buckeyes gave ASIMO a friendly send off as it headed for its next stop on the ASIMO Technology Circuit, the University of Minnesota.
