ASIMO demonstrated its capabilities hourly in front of the Aquarium of the Pacific's Blue Cavern exhibit during Technology Day.
Honda's ASIMO, the world's most advanced humanoid robot, appeared at the 3rd annual Technology Day at the Aquarium of the Pacific on March 25, 2006 in Long Beach, Calif. ASIMO conducted hourly demonstrations in front of the impressive Blue Cavern exhibit during the one-day educational family event which attracted large crowds of visitors.
Honda and the Aquarium share a longstanding commitment to youth, science and education. The annual Technology Day serves to bring science and technology to a tangible level for visitors.
In addition to ASIMO's demonstrations, the event included interactive exhibits and demonstrations of technology used to study and protect the ocean and its inhabitants. Visitors learned how technology allows the Aquarium to care for animals from tiny fish to large sharks as well as how a remotely operated underwater vehicle operates and much more.
Honda is a founding and ongoing sponsor of the Aquarium of the Pacific.
